Data analyst ii
Roth Staffing is looking for a Data Analyst II for the client (life insurance company).
We are looking for an experienced data analyst to join the Actuarial Data Delivery team (contracting). You will be responsible for capturing business requirements and analyzing large datasets to help drive data-driven decisions.
What You'll Do
* Analyze complex data sets, understand business problems, evaluate business needs, and clarify data requirements, processes, and systems for complex technology projects
* Work with Product Owner to refine backlog, prioritize use cases and drive understanding of data and process requirements
* Run complex data analysis using SQL, Python, Snowflake and other tools
* Experience driving requirements for Dashboards using tools like Tableau and PowerBI
* Convert results of an analysis into presentable and easily understood insights and recommendations to share with the business teams and stakeholders.
* Create and update user stories in backlog
* Collaborate with product owner, data engineers, data scientists and architects
* Analyze data needs and risks, identifying potential challenges and uncovering any underlying assumptions to optimize outcomes
* Validate data requirements through query-based methods and data profiling techniques, ensuring accuracy and completeness
* Provide valuable feedback throughout the requirement gathering process, contributing insights to enhance data-driven decision-making
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data warehousing, or analytics roles
* Proficiency in SQL and Python
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to document process and create reports
* Data management experience in the Financial Services Industry preferred
* Experience with finance, accounting, or actuarial systems preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must Have
* 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data warehousing, or analytics roles
* Proficiency in SQL and Python
Nice To Have
* Data management experience in the Financial Services Industry preferred
